Yordanka is a linguist with formal training in Classical and Arabic languages. For over 10 years both her work experience and academic studies have been focused on and related to the contemporary culture and politics of the Middle East - she has completed her BA at Cairo University in Classics and has consecutively pursued an MA in Middle Easter Studies at Sofia University. Yordanka has worked as an expert at the Middle East and Africa Directorate of the Bulgarian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and has considerable international experience in the NGO-sector in education related programmes. Currently she works for the Bulgarian School of Politics, a non-profit non-governmental organization, where she is entrusted with the development of their Middle East and North Africa projects.
Yordanka is also one of the creators of FINE Journal (Formal, Informal and Natural Education) - English language, peered-reviewed quarterly, whose main goal is to stimulate the development of new educational ideas in Bulgaria and the Balkan region aimed at achieving greater social applicability of the educational process today.
Yordanka loves playing and inventing games, or any other activity that stimulates the imagination. She enjoys a good horse ride in the mountain or the desert, and is always thrilled by the ultimate sense of freedom one gets on the back of a galloping horse.
