Simona currently works within the Education and Research Department of the Romanian Presidency. Prior to that she worked in the private sector with Ursus Breweries and in the public sector as Advisor to Secretary of State in the Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure and also working as an independent educational consultant, planning and developing educational projects. She does that in collaboration with several institutions and organizations, including LEAP, the University of Bucharest, the Dinu Patriciu Foundation and British Council Romania. She graduated with a double degree in Politics and Psychology from the University of Bucharest and a MSc. in Comparative and International Education from the University of Oxford. Having had the opportunity to study and work in Romania as well as abroad (in the US through an Open Society Institute scholarship and in the UK during her master’s degree), Simona has gained valuable experience in different fields, ranging from NGOs, to institutional and corporate environments (including GIPIR, Princess Margarita of Romania Foundation, NY Congressional Office, USCRI, the Permanent Mission of Romania to the United Nations and Siemens). She is one of the founding members and the former president of an educational NGO, Link Education And Practice (LEAP), and her personal and professional trajectories constantly reaffirm her interest in education, civil society development and active participation. Though open to discovering new hobbies such as rock climbing, Simona remains faithful to her love of literature, music, movies and swimming.
