Razvan Orasanu was Senior Advisor to Prime Minister Calin Popescu-Tariceanu since February 2005. Educated at Epsom College in the UK (as a Headmaster's Conference Scholar) and thereafter at the London School of Economics, he has lived in UK (London), France (Paris) and China (Qinhuangdao). His professional career started with a stint as junior consultant at Shell Business Consultancy at Shell Headquarters in London, then as a teaching assistant at the prestigious business school of HEC Paris (Haute Ecole de Commerce ).
In 2006, Razvan Orasanu was for a year President of the Authority for State Assets Recovery (with Cabinet rank). During this time 82 privatizations were undertaken and completed, more than 60.000 forced asset executions took place, netting the Romanian state budget some $236 million. After this stint, he came back to his position as senior advisor to the Prime Minister. His future ambition is to apply for a Masters in Public Policy at Harvard's University Kennedy School of Government. As hobbies he enjoys Lacrimosa (the gothic band), reading biographies and swimming.
