Kristaq Profkola comes from Albania and he is originally from a seaside city called Durre, where he was born and raised. Now he lives in Tirana, where his professional activity is concentrated. He holds a law degree from the University of Bologna in Italy and a master of laws degree in European Law from the University of Gent in Belgium. For many years he has been working as a lawyer in a well-known law firm where his main engagements were related to offering assistance to important multinational in relation to business and company law issues as well as competition issues. He is a member of the Albanian Bar Association since 2007. After the experience as a lawyer he decided to join the public administration and to become a civil servant. In the meantime, since November 2011 he is an associate professor in a large private university in Albania where he holds seminars of commercial law and legal professions. He has also been very active in several voluntary activities where the most important were volunteering as Italian and English translator in the refugee camps established in Albania by the International Red Cross and Albanian Red Cross during the Kosovo war in the 1999, as well as being a member of an association called “Aksion Plus” undertaking HIV prevention and awareness campaign among high schools in Albania. He likes sports and he has been playing basketball for years in his city official basket team and he likes playing tennis as well.
