George Jiglau is a political scientist based in Cluj-Napoca, currently working as a lecturer at Babes-Bolyai University and researcher at the Center for the Study of Democracy. In November 2013, he was awarded a PhD magna cum laude in Political Science. Previously, he earned an MA at the Central European University in Budapest. He authored or edited several books and articles on electoral systems, political parties, ethnic relations and EU-related issues. Building on his academic background, he is an active member of the civil society, being involved in various projects aimed at improving the quality of the political elite and of public policies in Romania. In 2013, as part of a group of professors and students at the Political Science Department in Cluj, he launched the “Warm Meal” project, which takes place in 4 cities, reaching over 400 people.
