Georgiana Ilie currently writes feature stories for Decât o Revistă and Esquire Romania magazines. As a freelance writer for the past seven years, she contributed to BBC Good Food, Unica, Marie Claire, Tabu, Dilema Veche, Liternet and Think Outside the Box on various subjects such as culture, food, mental health and social issues. She won several journalism fellowships and awards such as the Fellowship for Excellence in Journalism, the Rosalynn Carter Fellowship for Mental Health Journalism and the Marshall Memorial Fellowship. She also serves as Communications Director for the Association for Community Relations (ARC), a group of philanthropy professionals who advocate for a culture of philanthropy in Romania. Other relevant professional experience includes Community Awareness Coordinator for United Way Romania, Communication Assistant with the United Nations Population Fund, and Programs Coordinator with the Center for Independent Journalism. She is an experienced trainer in journalism and storytelling and she is passionate about exploring culture through food and cooking.
