Aspen Institute Romania together with the Ministry of Education, Research and Innovation and Robert F. Kennedy Foundation Europe have signed a mutual agreement which aims to implement the "Speak Truth to Power" educational pilot project in the 2008-2009 and 2009-2010 academic year. The Speak Truth to Power educational material produced by the RFK Foundation Europe has been translated in Romanian and will be distributed to 15 high schools from Romania starting from the 8th of February 2010.
On Thursday, February 4th, 2010, the Ministry of Education, Research and Innovation together with Robert F. Kennedy Foundation Europe and Aspen Institute Romania organized a training seminar at the National High school „Gheorghe Lazar" in Bucharest for the teachers who will be involved in the "Speak Truth to Power" educational program. The educational material will be used as an extracurricular support material for social studies, philosophy and social sciences courses. The schools can also decide to use the educational material in other courses of the high school curriculum such as: Human Rights, Civic Education, Mass-Media Competence, and Memory of the Holocaust etc.
The trainers of the seminar were ValentinaPagliai from the Robert F. Kennedy Foundation Europe and Eugen Stoica from the Ministery of Education, Research and Innovation. They presented the educational material to the teachers and trained them on the various ways in which it can be used in class.
