The Aspen Fellows Council organized on 28 January 2012 an informal working breakfast between a small number of Aspen Fellows Network members and Mrs. Mariana Gheorghe, CEO OMV Petrom SA and Vicepresident of the Aspen Institute. The topic of the conversation was "The Two Faces of Responsibility: Corporate vs. Individual Responsibility".
Mrs. Gheorghe referred to the Aspen Fellows as "the ones that make the difference - socially and professionally" and encouraged them to assert their competence, character and will in transforming the country. The conversation was a candid debate on the relationship between multinational companies with an active presence in Romania and the Romanian public and political sphere. Whether businesses can act as role models in an infant free market economy and a young European democracy was another theme addressed in the dialogue.
The meeting has been the first event of a series of regular informal dialogues between Aspen Fellows and important leaders in executive positions in Romania.
