The weeklong event between 9th September and 14th September brings together Aspen Institute US and Romania's Board of Trustees as well as the Aspen International Committee - with representatives from Aspen Italia, France, Germany, India and Japan. The delegation is made up of Aspen Members such as Walter Isaacson, President and CEO of the Aspen Institute, Robert K. Steel, Chairman of the Board of Trustees or Leonard Lauder, Chairman Emeritus of the Aspen Institute.
The debate during the week - "20 Years Past - 20 Years Forward: Perspectives for Central and Eastern Europe" will be moderated by Walter Isaacson, former Chairman and CEO of CNN and Managing Editor of TIME Magazine, and will be looking at the changes that starting twenty years ago irreversibly shaped Europe and the world's perspective. From this historic time line, we will attempt an agenda-setting reflection on what to expect from the coming decades in term of Europe's economic and political course, with an emphasis on long-term consequences of the present crisis. The debate will be centred on interventions from key figures form the world of international business, government and academia.
