Steve Jobs by Walter Isaacson

On April 10, Aspen Institute Romania, in collaboration with UniCredit Tiriac Bank and Publica Publishing House is celebrating the launch of the Romanian version of "Steve Jobs" by Walter Isaacson, on April 10, from 18:00 at the Bastilia Bookshop, Piata Romania no. 5.

The official biography of the regretted and revered CEO of Apple, was originally published last year under the signature of Walter Isaacson, President of the Aspen Institute, former CEO of CNN and Chief Editor of Time Magazine and successful author of a number of biographies."Steve Jobs" has been the New York Times bestseller for several weeks. This is not surprising as previous Walter Isaacson books were also successful both with critics and the public.


The launching of the long awaited Romanian edition of this book stands as an excellent opportunity for the Aspen Institute Romania an its "Technology, Information and Society Program" to highlight the role of entrepreneurship and innovation. During the event we will present an exclusive video interview with the author, given for the book's launch in Romania. This will be followed by an informal discussion on the topic of the relationship between entrepreneurship and technology, the state of the IT sector in Romania and to explore the possibilities and limits of a "Steve Jobs" entrepreneurship and leadership model in other contexts. Before writing about the incredible life and professional activity of Steve Jobs, Walter Isaacson published several other biographies like "Einstein: His life and Universe" - 2007, "Benjamin Franklin: An American Life" - 2003 and "Kissinger: A Biography" - 1992 and was co-author of the book "The Wise Men: Six Friends and the World They Made " - 1986.

Aspen Institute Romania's Technology, Information and Society Program is one of the five ongoing policy programs of the Institute. It aims at identifying the ways (conditions, policies, instruments) in which the IT&C sector can develop into a true engine of economic growth for Romania. Also it explores the potential benefits and the societal impact of technological solutions in areas like media, communications, governance, administration, education, healthcare, etc.. The program is creating a community by inviting experts, from the public and private sectors, as well as major international corporations and business in the field of IT&C active in Romania, Romanian local champions, public regulators in the field, academic and civil society representatives. It holds regular roundtable debates, dialogues and it produces, in conjunction with the AIR Economic Opportunities Program, a series of Policy Papers in the field.
