Call for Nominations. JALP 2012

Due to a high number of requests from Romania and the region, we have decided to extend the deadline on Nominations until Sunday, 19th February.

The Justice and Administration Leadership Program (JALP) is part of the larger Aspen Romania tradition of Leadership Programs that engages regional leaders in various fields in order to debate, act and have an influential and sustainable effect on the development of societies in our region. Based on the flagship Program of the Aspen Institute Romania, the Young Leaders Program, the Justice and Administration Leadership Program is welcoming nominations for its 2012 edition. The 2012 JALP will bring increased regional participation and create additional diversity and relevance for a growing number of participants already covering 6 countries. Following participation in JALP, Fellows are eligible to join the Aspen Fellows Network.

WHO?

JALP is designed with a clear two-fold goal: to promote and advance progressive leadership within Romanian and European Justice and Administration sectors; and to make the best of the tested Aspen method in order to instill a greater sense of responsibility towards fundamental ethical issues in fields critical to deliver public goods in Romania and its region. The program addresses young professionals in the public system related to justice and administration.

JALP is designed for young people, 25-40 years old, who have the potential, interest and determination to exercise leadership to the highest standards of public responsibility and according to the ethical values on which Aspen is based. For this reason we offer a program which challenges people to think about the fundamental concepts on which our society is founded and reflect on the ways in which their actions influence their societies and public policies.

The program consists of three modules in Romania. Participants are required to have a high level of English fluency, as it is the working language of the program; the Institute will cover accommodation, meals, moderation costs and reading materials, leaving participants to only cover their transportation expenses.

Therefore, if you consider the program could add real value to young people with leadership qualities and initiative within your environment, we would appreciate your nomination for one or more individuals you believe qualify. Also, we kindly ask your support you to spread the JALP idea where you find it suitable, looking forward for other possible nominations from interesting professional or social backgrounds.

HOW?

Nominations can be made by submitting the following documentation in English: the Nomination Form, a letter of recommendation and the candidate's CV together with a letter of intention. The file is to be sent to Ms. Sorina Campean, Program Officer with the Leadership Programs Department at sorina.campean@aspeninstitute.ro. by 15th February 2012. If you have any questions, feel free to contact us.
